Carnegie is seeking a Hydrodynamic Engineer to join the technical team and work closely with other engineers across a broad range of disciplines in executing the technology development plan. Reporting to Carnegie’s Chief Technology Officer, this position will be responsible for hydrodynamic development and analysis of our CETO wave energy technology.
The Position:
• Perform hydrodynamic studies of wave energy devices including performance analysis, optimisation, load case definitions and development of new ideas
• Develop production techniques utilising new and existing tools, including linear and Navier-Stokes computational fluid dynamics simulations
• Author and review detailed technical reports relating to wave energy theory, design, tank testing, installation, commissioning and operation of equipment and components
• Collaborate closely with the technical team to ensure appropriate development of load and motion cases
• Collaborate closely with the analysis team to produce suitable data for the machine learning development
• Undertake design, analysis and development activities of CETO and other components, as required
