The European Maritime Day is the annual EU meeting point on maritime affairs and blue growth. It targets maritime professionals, entrepreneurs and ocean leaders from businesses, governments, public institutions, NGOs and academia.
The focus of the European Maritime Day 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, will be on blue entrepreneurship, innovation and investment to transform traditional maritime sectors and boost emerging technologies and value chains. A specific focus will be put on research and innovation for a healthy ocean.
A specific session on Marine Energies will take place on May 16th at 2:15 pm, coordinated by OEE, the Occitan region and EMEC. Participants will learn about the latest offshore renewable energy developments along Europe’s Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, with a particular focus on the regional economic and environmental impacts. The session will encourage an exchange of views on the relationship between maritime communities and wave, tidal and floating wind projects.
