General framework of the training offer
The training is built over two years according to a logic of progressive specialization which is illustrated, in the first two semesters (M1), by the choice of two options out of four:
- Space and Geomatics
- Sea and coastline
- Territories and societies
- City and town planning
In addition to these options, multidisciplinary conferences are offered in the 2nd semester.
Gradual specialization continues in M2 by choosing one of the three courses.
This second year of Master’s degree integrates in the last semester an internship of a duration of 5 to 6 months, for a simulation in a professional environment (companies, design office, research laboratory, etc.).
The course Géographie et aménagement des espaces maritimes (Geography and Marine Spatial Planning) is one of the possible courses in master 2.
This programme trains specialists in the spacial management of coastal and maritime areas, around a very wide range of issues (management of sectors, coastal urbanization, coastal erosion, preservation of the environment, consultation , planning, prospective, etc.).
This pogramme is taught in French.
Specific contribution to MRE
The labor market in the field of coastal and maritime development consists of “niches”, and this course is designed to respond to this diversity of employment opportunities.
The typical job is that of “studies” or “littoral” missions, declined in the various fields and structures of the development, including: development, monitoring, evaluation of planning processes in coastal zone (community, office of study), coastal zone management (association, community), responsible for sector studies (wind developer, fishing committee, etc.), etc.
Research, a research engineer or doctorate, is also a professional opportunity at the end of the Master’s degree.
