Job description

The research project is part of a EU H2020 project, FLOTANT, addressing innovations for floating offshore wind platforms. The project will focus on the development of innovative mooring and anchoring systems, dynamic cable systems and develop O&M strategies.

The post will be integrated into the innovation activities with a particular focus towards O&M strategies, whilst contributing to mooring and power cable R&D. You will be expected to lead on the development of O&M strategies, and strongly contribute the innovation activities towards mooring and power cable systems, as well as enable physical tests of the mooring systems and the dynamic cable. Furthermore, the post would require to increase awareness of offshore renewable energy technologies including sensoring and monitoring systems and the evaluation of the techno-economic, environmental, social and socioeconomic.

You will be a nationally recognised authority in offshore renewable technologies with a preferable background in optimisation of O&M processes, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the mooring and power cable engineering to implement research activities and contribute to research programmes and methodologies. You will also be able to work collaboratively, international and supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required.
