The Performance & Operability Engineer develops/implements advanced feedback control strategies to provide high turbine performance and low mechanical loading. This requires strong collaboration with other areas to ensure accurate loads and performance predictions over the entire range of turbine operation.
Develop/implement state-of-the-art feedback control algorithms that increase turbine performance, lower mechanical loading of the turbine and guarantee a high availability.
Analyze the impact of the control strategy on the mechanical loads of the turbine in simulation and through the evaluation of measurement data
Develop/implement tools to process data both from simulations as well as experimental measurement campaigns
Incorporate wind turbine and wind farm operability requirements into the design
Validate turbine controls based on experimental tests results with possible involvement in turbine commissioning on site
Support performance issues resolution from wind farms operation, including root cause analysis using problem solving methodologies
