General framework of the activity
The WPD group is specialized since 1996 in the development, financing, construction and operation of onshore and offshore wind farms. With 1,400 wind turbines in operation, representing 2.2 GW of installed capacity in 2018, the group is one of the European leaders in wind energy.
In 2018, WPD is currently active in 18 countries in the wind, photovoltaic and offshore sectors.
The company is involved in nine offshore wind projects: Butendiek, Nordergründe and Kaikas in Germany, Storgrundet in Sweden, Suurhiekka in Finland, and Courseulles, Fécamp, Dunkirk and Oléron in France.
WPD OFFSHORE FRANCE is a subsidiary of the WPD group. Created in 2007, it develops wind farms off the French coast, with the aim of building and operating its own projects. At present, WPD OFFSHORE FRANCE offers several projects on the Manche – North Sea facade than on the Atlantic coast. They have all been defined in close collaboration with the locals, the administrations and the users of the sea, starting with the fishermen. All of these projects represent a total capacity of 2,500 MW.

Projects in MRE
As part of the first call for offshore wind, launched by the French government on July 11, 2011, WPD OFFSHORE FRANCE, associated with Orsted and EDF Renewables, won its two sites: the Fécamp project (Seine -Maritime) and that of Courseulles-sur-Mer (Calvados), giving a cumulative total power of 948 MW.
