Background
Offshore renewable energy is a rapidly expanding sector. While offshore wind is quickly growing in capacity and size, wave and tidal energy technologies are now approaching the commercial stage. As components get larger and heavier, installing and maintaining such systems in highly energetic sites entails significant logistical challenges.
Within the scope of the MaRINET2 project, WavEC Offshore Renewables is organizing a short course entitled “Installation and O&M of Offshore Renewable Energy systems”.
The two-day course will introduce the theory and basics of marine operation planning, and present the state-of-the-art on the installation and maintenance of wave, tidal and floating wind energy projects, sharing insights from industry experts and technology front-runners.
