ELECTRIC SUBSTATION
Positioned at the center of the farms, the electric substations are an essential element in the development of offshore farms. They collect the energy produced and transform it for to bring it on earth via the export cables. They also serve as relays for remote control of the farm. Several substations can be installed depending on the size of the farm.
Westermost Rough
In May 2014, the delivery to DONG Energy of the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm power station confirms the entry of Les Chantiers de l’Atlantique into the European offshore wind market.
With a capacity of 385 W, the electrical substation for the ARKONA offshore wind farm located in the Baltic Sea, is today one of the largest offshore electric substation ever built.
This electrical substation equips a wind offshore farm based in Belgium. In 2016, following a highly selective European call, les Chantiers de l’Atlantique won the order for a 309 MW electrical substation. The contract includes engineering, fabrication, transportation and offshore installation. Delivery took place January 10, 2018.
