He will oversee all WEAMEC activities and report to the Director of Development at Centrale Nantes. First of all, he will be responsible for managing and strengthening the existing community with a view to creating value and boosting the economic sector.  Then, he will set up and manage WEAMEC’s Calls for Projects. Finally, he will coordinate communication efforts.

WEAMEC brings together the Marine Renewable Energy (MRE) ecosystem in the Pays de la Loire in the fields of research, innovation and training.

WEAMEC groups together some thirty research establishments and laboratories and around 90 partner companies in the Pays de la Loire region. More than 220 companies in France and abroad collaborate with WEAMEC’s academic institutions and companies.  WEAMEC is supported by local authorities including the Pays de la Loire region, Nantes Métropole and la Carène.

Dominique Follut replaces Philippe Baclet, who joined Farwind Energy as Director of Energy Conversion and Storage.

 

Dominique Follut’s career path

Dominique Follut graduated in 1996 with a PhD in Engineering Sciences from Centrale Nantes. After studying at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Nantes (ensa), Dominique Follut began his career as a research fellow at the Centre de Recherche Méthodologiques en Architecture. From 1999 onwards, he held several positions in the innovation and development sector. From 2011 to 2021, he worked in the development & innovation department of KEOPS Performance Group. From 2013 and for six years, he participated in the steering of the MRE sector as Vice-President of Neopolia. At the same time, he was very active for more than six years in his city of Orvault where he was Deputy Mayor in charge of education and family. In 2019, he became Vice-President of the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique. Since April 2021, he has been Research Director at the École Nationale Supérieure Maritime (ENSM) based in Le Havre, Normandy.
