Ocean Power Innovation Network – OPIN
The Ocean Power Innovation Network (OPIN) is a European collaborative network that aims to accelerate the growth of the Offshore Renewable Energy sector and its supply chains.
WEAMEC is responsible for creating and managing a European network of SMEs which work or could work in the MRE sector. This network will be open to SMEs, but also to associate members (research organizations, large companies, public organizations) to encourage cross-sector interaction to develop European projects and reinforce international presence.

OPIN Workshop: Advanced Materials and Manufacturing – 12/11
As part of the OPIN project, WEAMEC will organize a free workshop on Advanced Materials and Manufacturing (composites focus) on 12th November 2019 in Nantes.
The workshop will provide an update on the latest advances in materials and manufacturing, with a particular focus on composites.
It will include presentations by academic collaborators (University of Edinburgh, IRT Jules Verne, Centrale Nantes, University of Nantes…) and industrial (Sabella, Bureau Veritas, Multiplast, LoireTech…). This seminar will be coupled with a visit to the IRT Jules Verne and LoireTech facilities.
This event is co-funded by Interreg North West Europe and Nantes Métropole.

FRyDoM-Community Edition (CE) Open Source release
Thanks to the FRYDOM WEAMEC research project, initiated in 2016, involving an academic partner, Centrale Nantes, and a company, D-ICE Engineering, an Open Source simulation software for offshore operations at the best global level has just been put online.
Centrale Nantes & D-ICE Engineering are very pleased to announce the first release of the FRyDoM-CE framework under the GPLv3 open source license.
Along with the open source release, it is aimed to gather a user community sharing valuable information and experiences.
