Key characteristics
This measurement bench is made up of :
- resins models simulating the underground media at reduced scale
- a positioning bench for the sensors controlled automatically
- a piezoelectric source centered on 100 KHz
- a laser interferometer recording the particles displacement on the surface of the model
Equipment
The laser interferometer of the MUSC bench allows to record synchronously the vertical and horizontal components of the seismic wave field.
The accuracy of the measurement positioning is 10 micrometers and the minimum increment between two measurement positions is 100 micrometers.
Services
The measurement bench is available to the scientific community and to companies who need to simulate seismic measurements experimentally. The availability is defined from agreements between organizations.
Example of MRE applications
This means of testing can be used to simulate acquisition campaigns dedicated to the recognition or monitoring of the near underground.
This measurement at Ultrasonic Scale bench is used in the WEAMEC project PROSE.
