Résumé de la publication

The electric insulation system of high voltage dynamic cable is designed to support continuously a maximum conductor temperature of 90oC. However, the growth of biofouling, particularly mussels can modify the heat transfer around the cable. In our work we estimate the effective thermal conductivity of different types of mussels as well as the heat transfer coefficient of water around the mussels. The results showed that the effective thermal conductivity of juvenile mussels is lower than the effective thermal conductivity of adult mussels.
